Located a short drive north of Austin in Leander, TX, Absolute Machine & Tooling has been in operation for more than 30 years. They became part of the ReNEW network in 2023.
Several of the company’s major customers have worked with them for more than 20 years, and many employees have been with the business for well over a decade. Their stability and consistency show the strong values the company was built on.
Absolute Machine & Tooling primarily provides CNC turning and milling, including 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis machining. They handle a broad mix of part geometries and sizes for customers.
The shop’s projects most often involve aluminum, copper, and stainless steel, and they offer both small-batch prototype work and large-scale production.
While Absolute Machine & Tooling has customers in many industries, they’ve developed a particular strength in machining semiconductor-related components over the years. Much of that work involves aluminum parts, and their experience has given them a strong understanding of the requirements for this type of project.
Jonathan Hesskew is the General Manager of Absolute Machine & Tooling, and he joined the company in early 2026. Jonathan has been in manufacturing for decades, having started in the industry directly out of high school.
Over the years, he’s been a machinist, programmer, operations manager, and production manager, among other roles. These positions have given him an understanding of both shop-floor execution and the broader business needs.
Jonathan oversees day-to-day operations at Absolute Machine & Tooling while keeping the team aligned on long-term goals. He is always making sure parts are staying on track, and customers are kept informed on project status.
As a leader, Jonathan emphasizes continuous improvement in both processes and team members.
“I’m a competitive person naturally, so I never want us to be satisfied with ‘good enough,’” he said. “We’re always aiming to become better every day. We want to be truly world-class.”
As part of the ReNEW Manufacturing Solutions network, Absolute Machine & Tooling works with other facilities in the network to make sure customers have access to every capability they need. The Texas team not only offers custom metal machining, but they are also supported by other locations with fabrication services, metal finishing, and other capabilities when projects require them.
Looking ahead, Jonathan and his team want to continue growing their role within the organization.
“We love collaborating with the other shops, and we want to keep expanding the role we play,” he said. “We want to become a flagship location.”
