ReNEW Georgia: Spotlight on TIW’s Fabrication and Welding Expertise

ReNEW Georgia

At ReNEW Manufacturing Solutions, our multi-location footprint gives customers access to broad capabilities, as well as the capacity to support a range of quantities. One important part of our American manufacturing network is TIW Machining and Fabrication in Dalton, Georgia.

TIW offers expert fabrication and welding services to ReNEW customers, helping us deliver complete manufacturing support across all of our locations.

A Long History of Quality

TIW Machining and Fabrication has a manufacturing history that goes back more than 50 years. The company began by offering welding services out of the back of a pickup truck, and grew over time into the expansive, full-scale operation it is today. In 2023, TIW joined the ReNEW network and became an even stronger resource for customers.

Today, TIW has 46 team members at its Dalton facility. The shop offers strong capabilities in welding and fabrication services, with in-house machining available as well. Its equipment includes nine press brakes and four laser cutters, giving them the flexibility to handle a wide variety of project requirements.

One standout asset is TIW’s 20-foot laser cutter, a 96" x 240" system capable of cutting material up to one inch thick. That equipment helps support large, demanding fabrication work and expands the range of parts and assemblies the facility can produce in-house.

Partnering With Demanding Industries

TIW serves customers in a variety of industries, including manufacturers that produce airport transportation equipment. The shop creates parts and assemblies for vehicles used on the tarmac, work that requires both fabrication expertise and scale. For one of this customer’s recent projects, TIW shipped 22,000 pounds of welded material. That output reflects their capabilities as well as the coordination to keep big projects moving efficiently.

Experienced Leadership on the Shop Floor

Billy Green serves as the General Manager of TIW Machining and Fabrication, overseeing the company’s day-to-day operations and keeping projects on track.

Billy brings more than 40 years of manufacturing experience to his role, having started in a fabrication shop right out of high school. Over the course of his career, he’s worked in several positions, including shop foreman and sales, giving him an understanding of both operations and customer needs.

Billy’s leadership style is practical and hands-on. In fact, when he began with TIW in a sales role, he spent mornings on the shop floor welding alongside the team. In his role as General Manager, he tries to lead in the same way.

“When I got offered this position, I went out and talked to all the guys on the floor to see if they would be comfortable with me in the role,” Billy said. “I knew that’s the only way I’d take it. I got the consensus I wanted, so I decided to accept the position.”

Green still takes that team-focused approach in his daily work.

“I’m not asking anyone to do something I wouldn’t do,” Green says. “I believe we’re all in this together to make the best product. By supporting each other, we can get better every single day.”

Stronger With the ReNEW Network

When TIW joined the ReNEW network in 2023, it created major opportunities for synergy. If projects require machining capabilities they don’t have, they can partner with other shops in our network for support, like our Texas location, Absolute Machine & Tooling.

Absolute Machine & Tooling, in turn, can rely on them for custom metal fabrication. That collaboration allows customers to access more complete manufacturing solutions through a single network.

Our Dalton, Georgia facility plays an important role in helping ReNEW serve as a one-stop shop for all your manufacturing needs.
